Student Groups
We encourage students interested in the Middle East to join one (or more!) student groups.
MESPA (the Middle East Socio-Political Association) is directly affiliated with MESC. The group builds awareness of the Middle East on campus, hosts speakers, and serves as a focal point for students interested in the Middle East. You can visit MESPA’s website.
Several other student groups might also be of interest:
- The Muslim Students Association,
- Hillel (contact Ginny Adams)
- The Turkish Student Association
- The Persian Student Association, and others.
We also encourage MESC students to join the Model Arab League. Georgia State’s team has been highly successful in national competitions. Dr. Rashid Naim of the Political Science department is the faculty adviser for the team.
Project Nur is a local student chapter at GSU that is part of a national organization. To learn more about them please see their national website projectnur.org.
